I have heard the food is good here. So, I'll give that a try one day. I came with a group for a birthday. I think this place is nice/ good atmosphere. However; there is not enough wait/bar staff. The Time it takes to get a drink is entirely too long. And, I ordered a mojito as I Heard they were good here. Apparently not. One piece of mint in it. Maybe its this individual bartender. I still can say this place appears to be a gem in New Port Richey. Give it a shot.

Dulcet is breath of fresh air in the NPR area. It is primarily a fine dining establishment with a nice lounge upstairs. Overall, Dulcet delivered one of the best meals we've ever had. Be sure to bring your pocket book because a fine dining experience is not without expense. Drinks were extremely reasonable. Be sure you try the mohito, best one I've ever had! One of the coolest features is a video wall that displays a jazz band in HD while you eat. The manager David was very pleasant and told us a patio was soon to open with iron drum and other live music. I'm giving Dulcet 5 stars because they are the only true 5 star dining establishment in New Port Richey. Great job guys.

We had a superb dining experience and a splendid evening out. My husband and I agreed that last night we shared the best-tasting ribeye steak that either of us had had in quite some time. We ordered the 32 oz. Hereford ribeye that was carved at our table-side by the chef. The steak was very thick, juicy, tender, beautifully-marbled and perfectly broiled to our choice of medium-rare. Why ruin a lovely piece of meat by broiling it any longer? Sacrilege. The chef carved the steak, the steak slices were laid over a bed of freshly-cooked al dente peeled asparagus and "chateau potatoes," and then the plates were placed before our loving eyes. Heaven awaited! By the way - to call the potatoes "mashed" would be to do them a disservice, although I do love mashed potatoes. We decided to start our meals with salads, which are not provided with the entrees. I ordered the Dulcet salad. The greens were crisp and cold, the goat cheese was nice but not overwhelming, and the vinaigrette was light and refreshingly flavorful. My husband had the Caesar salad which actually had anchovies. I find that many restaurants don't use anchovies these days; those restaurants don't make a true Caesar salad. So the Caesar salad my husband had was a pleasant surprise. We did not order an appetizer because the entree we ordered was going to be enough for both of us. I wish we had because the appetizers all sounded, well, appetizing, but after dinner I'm glad we hadn't because we ordered coffee and dessert instead. Being who we are, we ordered "just coffee." They had other coffee selections, but I always say "just coffee please, with cream and sugar." The coffee was strong and good. The dessert we decided on was the Bananas Foster. Great choice. The dessert was a blissful riot - flavorful bananas, vanilla bean, caramel, a hint of cinnamon, crispy, cold, sweet, a hint of salt (nice), more caramel, and the crispy texture of the banana coating. Perfect ending to a lovely meal. The restaurant's interior is quite nice, with romantic lighting and table seating that gives each party plenty of room to breathe. There is a small bar downstairs and a dining space upstairs. Of course, NO televisions! There is a large-screen monitor behind the stage in the main dining room where we sat that shows pleasant natural scenes. It provides the main lighting for the room, which is quite pleasing. The music is also pleasant. Overall the atmosphere is one in which to have a relaxing and enjoyable time. The manager told us there is live music monthly. They have a restaurant website - thedulcet.com - and he suggested that we check the website for information on upcoming events. Our server was very good. I wish I had gotten her name. She was efficient without being obtrusive, and that is a skill it takes time to learn. She was an integral part in making our night out special, she did her job very well, and I thank her for that. All of the staff I came in contact with were friendly. As I wrote at the beginning of this review, we had a superb dining experience and a splendid evening out. We will be back.

This restaurant sells itself as an upscale dining experience in an area that it really doesn't fit in. I'd first like to say if you are going to try and charge top dollar, please proofread your menu first. It appears that they think pan seared and pan seered are the same. Also their Maine Lobster is really Main Lobster Our waitress was very good, but most upscale restaurants don't bring the cheesy little green and white diner order receipt book with them to write down your order. I have been eating Chateaubriand since I was a small kid. I feel that I am experienced enough to know quality of beef between on restaurant to another. The table side Caesar salad was very good. Although the beef was tender and not fatty, the overall quality was low. We were also very specific on the fact that we like ours "blue". It came out rare. Which to us is still over cooked if you have a good quality cut of beef. I believe the chef was quite aware it was overdone and said he could take it back. I just could see wasting all that meat. I could easily compare the entire meal what the cruise ships give the entire ship without an up charge. In a different comparison I make this same dish at home and buy the tenderloin from Publix. The cut of beef we get from them is better for a fraction of the price. The overall experience was good but pricey after a couple drinks. I would go back again but keep my dinner selection a little more simple. Maybe just apps and drinks.

Dulcet is a wonderful addition to downtown NPR with its modern decor and exceptional cuisine. I came here for a birthday celebration on Ladies Night and we did have reservations. For large parties, make a reservation as they do not have that many large tables. The service was impeccable. Our server, John, was on top of every single request. The owner also came over and introduced himself. We also met Chef Paul who had prepared an amazing meal for us. We shared the charcuterie board to start. Also order the strawberry fields martini, it has jalapeño flavor in it but not the spice. Very interesting. Everyone was very pleased with their food. I had the filet which was cooked perfectly and was delicious. Since we were celebrating a birthday, the staff brought out the sticky toffee. I actually had wanted to try this but was too full so it was a nice surprise so we could all try a bite. You need to order this dessert. It is heaven in your mouth and it's also served with Rumchata ice cream. We continued the party since it was ladies night and the DJ had arrived. The bar area really filled up later in the evening. The staff continued to provide amazing service. I will definitely be back for a date night soon!

I hate to write bad reviews, but I have to say I was very disappointed. I suppose it was my understandable expectation that Dulcet was going to be, at last, a gourmet restaurant, much needed in New Port Richey. But the bill came in at over $100 for the two of us, and it was largely hohum food at best. We did like the ambiance, however, and the soft jazz music was lovely, so we may go back for their music later some evening, but not the food. Who would think of cooking lovely scrumptious lobster tales in tomato sauce? Yuck!

Ambience 10! Food 10! Cocktails 10! (but some of the cocktails I was wanting to try were not available at the time I was there..sadness). Dulcet is a place that would stand out in any world class city--most definitely in the middle of Manhattan (my home for 25 years). It's sexy, sophisticated and simply smashing. The food....I cannot give a higher rating. A MUST try are their Diver Scallops from Northeast waters. 1/4 lb of pure goodness laid simply on your plate--so inviting--with just a bit of garnish. Shrimp prepared in a way I've not had before, lightly citrused with a cocktail sauce that's saucy but not 'the usual'. AND delicious! Add to all of the above that I have met everyone who works there and every single one of them are people I want to know and would have in my home. Above all, they are experts in their respective fields. ANY question about ANYTHING and I'd say they'd know the answer--with a boatload of history/culture behind the answer. They 'bring you in' as though it's THE experience--and it is. The tables are set apart so as not to hear others' conversations. Downstairs is a dance floor--pretty large. Upstairs is another bar area with plump inviting cushioned lounge furniture. I thoroughly enjoy Dulcet--and am SO happy it's only 15 miles from home. My only wish is that Dulcet enjoys a long run with clientele worthy of the goodness that's all wrapped up into one big beautiful experience.

Went for the first time for my birthday and because it posted as Latin night with free dancing lessons in Facebook . I was blown way by everything. He chef who came out to met us is a culinary artist with London roots I. The food was amazing. It is pricy but the quality is superb, exotic, and totally upper class. They have a Sunday brunch which I'm looking forward to checking out as well. The DJ and sound was great, the band, Mambo Negron y su orchestra was a full band with brass, singers and a flare that had your feet moving all night. This is a jewel in the middle of New Port Richey. This is a must to check out. Good highlights: Divers scallop, salmon with pistachio crust, the bistro steak (melted in your mouth) and the creme brûlée and flan!

Well that's because it is a upscale restaurant from 4-10 and at night it's a lounge 10-2 that's why it's the way it is and the food is great staff is really professional kind courteous the man at the door is excellent kind and helpful I give it a ten out of ten will definitely go back

I have only been there for the club portion of this place and it was very nice. It has a very clean and fresh feel to it. I saw a few food dishes while there and it was all presented very well and gave a fancy feel for sure. It is a non smoking club which was a plus for me. Will go back and also recommend highly.
(5)Gary K.
Nice place but door man made me nervous. The bar is nice but the happy hour is a wast of time because it's nothing special and not available on Friday. The food is good but the price point is unrealistic for the area. I think it will be good once they adjust pricing to the market area. Dress code is a joke. I will give it some time before I try it again and I hope the food stays at the level of excellence that it is now. Gray

My wife and I visited here for our anniversary. We had previously made a reservation, but upon arrival to downtown NPR, we were dismayed that there was some sort of festival, and parking was non-existent. My wife spoke with a manager in regard to cancelling the reservation (due to not being able to find a single parking spot). However, the apologized profusely and offered to secure us a parking spot. This wonderful customer service on its own set this establishment above others. My wife and I started our meal with the crab cakes. While she is a fan of seafood, I am not normally a seafood enthusiast. I decided to try them anyways, and was amazed. They contained the perfect amount of crab, perfect moisture and crispy brown on the outside. We then had the Chateaubriand for two. The meat was cooked perfectly to our liking. Additionally, the steak had a nice crust and was buttery and able to be cut with a fork alone. The asparagus was cooked al dente and the stalks were green and full. The mashed potato that came with the meal were creamy and full of flavor. As the finale, we had the vanilla creme brulee. Excellent just like the rest of the meal, nice consistency and a perfectly caramelized crust. The caramel chunks served on the side were tasty and the meringue mushrooms were a nice additive. Service was impeccable, and our server was excellent and attentive. Because of the excellence of the food and service, my wife decided we should eat here more often.

Classy and upscale, with phenomenal customer service. Would definitely go back! Best lobster bisque was unbelievable.
(4)Gloria S.
Food and service was very good. Feel it was a bit over priced for the area. Will go back for a special occasion only. This is not a once a week "go out to eat " place.
(4)Bette W.
Dulcet is the best restaurant for a special occasion in the Bay Area. The Food, the ambiance, and the service are beyond compare. Worth every penny.
(5)Ramon P.
This is an interesting experiment for NPR. This place has not made up its mind wether it is a restaurant with live music or a "Club" that serves great food. At most it is a work in progress . It just opened and needs some work on curb appeal in its exterior. The inside is quite pleasant but still not finished. The saving grace is its food. Chef Paul has managed to singlehandedly elevare the Quality Of downtown cuisine. Once you get over the sticker shock, you can enjoy wonderful food expertly prepared using the freshest ingredients. We had the Salmon and the Tomahak pork chop each wonderful in its own right. Don't miss the Brussel sprout sautéed with wonderful house bacon. The wine list is a bit overpriced even for such an establishment but it has some Gems, if you know where to look. We are definitely going back after they have some time to find their identity. Their food is worth it!
(4)Dinesh P.
Very nice upscale place. Had a great time. Groups and all welcome. Can accommodate large and small groups and themed parties and get together. They have a giant screen that projects music which seems like the players are performing live.

Delightful place. Warm blue light, and modern decor. John, our waiter, led us to our table, and made us feel at ease. We enjoyed a lovely Riesling with our scallops appetizer. The chef, Paul Syms, kindly sent around a two-bite complimentary bread treat. The service was pleasant, as the waitstaff all cooperate. All too often we encounter unengaged apathetic servers that do nothing to heighten the experience for diners. Such was not the case at Dulcet. We made reservations, but it really wasn't necessary, as the place was practically empty when we got there at about 8:30. Although they advertise to dress well, and we did; at 9:00, when the club crowd came, many were very poorly dressed, some in beachwear. It really took the air out of the room. If you have a dress code - stick to it for everybody. Our dinner entrée, rainbow trout, was good. Throughout our dining experience the staff was helpful and attentive without being intrusive. OK, all that being said, we saved a bit of room for the crème brûlée dessert which was also good. The coffee was fine, and we chose to enhance it with a shot of Bailey's! It is much pricier than many establishments in the area, not sure it's worth that much of a price boost. Cost for two $100.00+ Three Stars for the food & service (mostly) PROBLEM: We were told they were very reasonable with the wine pricing in that their bottle price was three times their glass price. When we perused the wine list the wine we chose was seven dollars per glass, but the bottle price was $30 which was far above the three glass price of $21. We brought this discrepancy to the their attention, but they were unwilling to extend us the courtesy of adhering to their own policy. We gave them the benefit of the doubt until I got home and looked up the bottle price online at local liquor stores. The retail price of the bottle of wine we had was $10 or less. They could very well have extended the courtesy of holding to their own policy and satisfying the customer. Not a very classy move, to my thinking. They would only have doubled their money, rather then tripling, as they did. Didn't seem like a very smart business move for first time guests. Sorry guys, you want to be successful, you bend over backwards to satisfy your guests! Perhaps they will read this review, and extend a courtesy. What do you think?

Made reservations on opentable for a Saturday night, they weren't busy at all and they were not needed. The inside is modern and clean. We ordered the chateaubriand and the rainbow trout. The only complaint is the meat really could have come with more vegetables but it was cooked wonderfully and had tons of flavor. If you are in the Port Richey area and need a special place to celebrate an event this is it!!!
(5)Bob B.
I give this place 1 year. Over priced. Why do people think that New Port Richey can support this place? It's been tried a million times. Please, do your market research. I feel sorry for the owners. They probably put their hearts and soul into this pkace. You'd be smart to scale down the menu and the drink prices. You best get it together. Good luck.
(2)June B.
Don't bother. Staff was rude so we walked out. Too bad, New Port Richey needs a good restaurant.

The problem with high end restaurants in this sort of location is that they tend to be dead except on weekend nights after the initial buzz about them wears off. I really hope they do well. It would behoove the manager to post an explanation about the $10 cover turning into a $20 cover, that seems shortsighted as well as horrible public relations. As a high end restaurant server, the tableside ceasar worries me for the staff there. I think of it as pase'. Making tableside ceasar salad only serves to stimy servers when they could be utilizing their time so much more effectively. I've done the tableside ceasar thing and it is a nightmare for a server. I'd recommend doing bananas foster tableside if anything; major yum factor. Plus most kitchens put out a better ceasar then those made tableside. All in all the online menu looks over the top. I was especially happy to see wild Alaskan salmon. Actually I'm really excited to check it out and maybe even apply there. Good luck !!!

Disappointed. Bait and switch. I cannot effectively rate the restaurant portion because we only made it to the hostess stand. Called for reservations and they were booked but assured us that there was standing room at the bar. Babysitter secured for our kids. Excited about the potential of an upscale place close to the Trinity area as well as being able to enjoy the live music from the Black Honkeys. At the door, the doorman informed us that the $10 cover charge doubled and was now $20 (45 minutes into the show mind you). When we inquired for details as to why, he sent us in to the hostess stand. She said yes, indeed there was standing room but the charge was $20 per person instead of $10. Bait and switch. Greedy and false advertisement. Not a good way to make a first impression on a group of well connected people from the Trinity area. We could've paid the $20 cover charge per person but out of principle, we left. This is downtown New Port Richey not Miami. Traveled back to Trinity and spent our money elsewhere.

we had friends in from Ponte Vedre Beach for Easter. Had Easter Brunch at Dulcet. As four people who previously lived in one of the most upscale towns in the state of Connecticut we consider ourselves fortunate to have such a great dining establishment within a short drive. Our ala carte brunch was absolutely outstanding, service was as good as we have had anywhere on the east coast and having lived in Europe for close to ten years one of our most pleasurable experiences. The Grouper and crab Wellington was off the hook. Prices were what we expected even a little les than in CT or NY. People in the area need to get in to this restaurant and live out side the south west Florida box. We'll be back

Incredible experience. The food and service was awesome. Party of six with three of us choosing beef and three seafood. The scallops and halibut were perfect. Steaks were tender and nicely seasoned. Martinis were a nice way to start the evening. Fantastic atmosphere. Thank you Dulcet!
(5)Lisa H.
The decor had a South Beach vibe. It was very inviting, and the staff was exceptional. The wine list left something to be desired, and the mark up reminded me of a fine wine list in NYC not NPR. We only had appetizers. The presentation was wonderful, but there was nothing to rave about there.

Wow! What a crazy Saturday night! Starting at 10 o'clock, you will find the dance floor lighting up with colorful strobes accompanied by large mystical view on a wall screen tv. Many professional and learning dancers can be spotted from anywhere in the building. The furniture and decor is beautiful and modern and black leather couches/booths make you feel quite fancy. :) Awesome loud music and a fun Spanish mostly crowd. But even this little white girl had a great time! Specialized food menu with a Spanish theme will be this night as well as some special drinks. Food is kind of pricey but looks fancy when it comes out. Relatively ok drink and beer prices. Check it out!

We received a post card "Chef Paul Syms invites you to experience Dulcet" Twilight Dinner Special 4-5:30 PM, 3 Courses $29 "Does not include Tax & gratuity" Happy Hour in our upstairs lounge from 4:00 - 7 pm. A sign out front advertised $5 Martinis and $ Manhattans so when our server arrived, we asked him if the happy hour was only in the bar or if we could have it at our table...his response was but of course so I repeated that happy hour could be at our table and he said yes. What a surprise when the bill arrived and our 3 drinks were $9.00 each = $27.00 plus a 20% tip was automatically included @ $17.00. Up until this point we were quite impressed with the quality of the premises and the nice presentation of the food. The crab cakes were excellent; Lobster Bisque was remarkable with some nice pieces of lobster. Fresh baked bread and flatbread with craft butter and dipping sauce was also presented well. As to the main courses, my spouse ordered the filet mignon medium rare. It arrived more like a medium well with no red center. My Bandit Boat Fish was a fried snapper. The Risotto that accompanied the fish had little flavor nor did the potatoes that accompanied the filet mignon. The snapper itself had a nice presentation but tasted a bit too salty as well as fried. We shared the chocolate cake & Ice cream for dessert. Homemade ice cream was excellent. My spouse liked the chocolate bacon and I liked the green tea ice cream...both of us liked the vanilla ice cream. Prior to paying the bill, I questioned the server about my 'happy hour' question and his reply was that he did not understand my question and thought that I was asking if he was able to serve drinks at our table. He offered us no recourse. Rather than argue, we paid the $106.06 for our Twilight Dinner Special with Happy Hour, tax & tip. While the food is good, I cannot say that we have not had better or equivalent elsewhere in Pasco or Tampa Bay area for equivalent pricing without any special offers. If you like the convenience of local dining...just be sure to check your bill as typically in this area servers do not give themselves an automatic 20% tip.
